Gaming has become a popular genre throughout the years. Gamers watch them take a break from gaming and weebs to watch them get into gaming. Here are some of the most popular ones to watch, summarized for your convenience.
Sword Art Online (Pictured in the thumbnail)
The Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG), Sword Art Online (SAO), was released in 2022, just one year from now. The new Nervegear helmet stimulates the users’ five senses, if it is pleasure or pain, it can be felt. In it, the players control their character with their minds. The first few hours are fun and peaceful, but when the players try to log out, that’s when the nightmare begins. Nobody can log out until they beat the game. And if they die in the game, they die in real life. Every player is fighting for survival. The goal for Kirito and his friends is to make it to the top floor where the main boss chambers are.
This one gets compared to Sword Art Online if you’re a fan of it, then you’ll like this one too. The series starts in the world of Elder Tale, a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). Elder tale is already a well-known global franchise, however, the 12th installment of the franchise is a bit different when it ends up trapping 30,000 gamers to play until they win. Shiroe, an introverted shut-in gamer, along with his friends, Naotsugu and Akatsuki, decide to team up so that they may face this world, which unfortunately has now become their reality.
It’s rare when we get an anime about game developers making the game rather than gamers playing it. There’s good character development and a good story. A group of game developers right out of high school are working on a large project. New Games show that being a part of the bigger picture is more important than yourself.
And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online
Every gamer’s fantasy is to meet a special someone who plays games and is a girl. However, the online world is more deceptive than what meets the eye. People being someone they are not is commonplace in the virtual world of games. When our main character proposes to get married to an online female player, Teenager Hideki Nishimura is shocked and disappointed to find his crush is a guy. Because of that, he swore to remain offline. Two years later he finds himself in another guild where he accepts an online marriage. When they have a meet-up in real life Hideli is shocked to find his new guild is all female players and they go to his school.
Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
Yes. Most times, at least. But this absurd title is not as crazy when watching the series. The main character is not as the title picks him out to be, but a child of chivalrous intentions and oblivious to the fact of any adult sexual innuendos. The oddly specific title is a lot more than what it seems. Set in a Medieval European World Warcraft setting, Bell is a solo adventure that is inexperienced and barely living on anything to make ends meet. By traveling down into the Dungeon, is how he gets paid by bringing back rare artifacts. Unlike SAO, here the main character tries to get deeper down into the dungeon to level up and gain power. With the help of goddess Hestia
No Game No Life
What would you do if you heard there was this small group of gamers who are undefeated and have flawless scores in any game they play. Would you think they are cheaters? Well, you’re not the only one doubting their gaming skills, but there are gamers like that out there. Sora and Shiro are a brother and sister gaming duo that live in their games. Real-life for them is a crappy game and only when they play their games is when they are most alive. One day the two get transported into a world governed by games. You can’t rob or kill anyone without betting on a game first. At the time the kingdom is in a catastrophe. Can Sora and Shiro save the kingdom with their mad gaming skills? Or not?
