British esports organisation EXCEL ESPORTS has announced the appointment of ex-FUSE Director Shahin Rasti as the company’s new Head of Partnerships.

Rasti will focus on bringing on new commercial partners to EXCEL, as well as supporting its existing partners and growing the partnership team within the company. Moreover, he will work closely with another one of EXCEL’s recent hires, Partnerships Executive Sara Leghari.

Rasti’s last job was at sports and entertainment agency Fuse, where he managed accounts for Santander and FedEx. His previous work saw him collaborate with Subway, Samsung, Formula 1, Allianz and Arsenal FC.

Rasti is no stranger to esports and gaming, as well. He provided consultancy services with esports companies including FACEIT and SK Gaming.

EXCEL ESPORTS’ new Head of Partnerships commented: “It felt like the right time to move into the ever-growing esports space and EXCEL’s journey and vision really stood out to me. The organisation are doing things the right way.”

EXCEL’s Commercial Director Mark Carted added that the experience of Rasti will be ‘pivotal’ in how the organisation develops, articulates and activates its partner prepositions. Rasti will be tasked with nurturing relationships with the likes of Just Eat and JD Sports, two of the UK-based esports organisation’s notable partners.

EXCEL ESPORTS recently made significant changes in its leadership structure, appointing former Head of Esports Tim Reichert as COO, and promoting Oskar Sisi from Creative Director to Marketing and Brand Director. The company also opened its new headquarters in central London, and was named Duke of Edinburgh’s Award approved activity provider, allowing it to host an esports programme for the Award’s participants.

EXCEL ESPORTS is also a partner of Shikenso Analytics, YOYOTECH PC hardware, and AndaSeat.
