Nickelodeon’s Super Smash Bros Style-game is Coming Soon

Smash Bros gamers have some exciting news for them this fall. The rumors are true Slap City developers, Nickelodeon will be releasing their own Super Smash Bros version, All-Star Brawl featuring iconic cartoon characters like Spongebob and Patrick, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be released this fall 2021 Tuesday, October 5th on the PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Game developers Ludosity and Fair Play Labs have been developing this game which was recently announced in development this summer in mid-July. Ludiosity may not be a household name but was put into the spotlight once this reveal was announced of this cartoon mashup. Ludiosity’s professional credentials came in the form of their 2018 fighting game, Slap City, it had a fighting style similar to Smash, which makes spectators hopeful that All-Star Brawl will not disappoint.

We don’t have a full roster yet of Nickelodeon’s cartoon cast, but there are at least 14 confirmed characters so far that have been shown on promo trailers include Michelangelo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys), Powdered Toast Man (Ren & Stimpy), SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants), Sandy Cheeks (SpongeBob SquarePants), Patrick Star (SpongeBob SquarePants), Oblina (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters), Lucy Loud (The Loud House), Lincoln Loud (The Loud House), Helga (Hey Arnold!), Reptar (Rugrats), Zim (Invader Zim) and Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom).

In addition to that, there will be 20 playable maps including Jellyfish Fields from Spongebob and the Technodrome from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Characters will have moves that will be able to be unlocked. Unlike Smash Melee you can battle your friends online wherever they may be or just compete more traditionally offline with the whole gang in the living room.

Nickelodeon’s All-Star Brawl is a highly-anticipated must-get for cartoon fans who are still immersed in nostalgic morning cartoon shows and want to relive their memories in the form of an interactive animated mix-mashup. Nostalgia is a powerful commodity to sell. We all love to reminisce. Now instead of just watching those cartoon characters, you can control them to your will.

Super Smash Bro’s wavedashing technique will return in All-Star. For those unfamiliar, it is a way of maneuvering by sliding around the ground without walking or running from side to side while attacking. Projectiles in this game have changed much more from Smash. You can now hit projectiles coming at you or catch them. Each time a projectile is redirected it comes back to a player at a stronger force.
