No Man’s Sky Frontiers; A Long Awaited Addition

It’s. Finally. Here.

Frontiers, ladies and gentlemen, has finally arrived. For those of you who are unaware, or perhaps gave up on No Man’s Sky a week after debut like so many others, Sean Murray has been teasing a new major update since August 9th. There was no release date, just a tease. But it finally dropped today and I couldn’t be anymore excited.

You can watch the trailer below:

So basically, there’s a lot of cool sh*t being added finally. Let’s get into it:

  • Settlements: All across the universe, you will now find legitimate towns full of inhabitants. Each looks unique and house different species of aliens. Maybe you’ll find something interesting in one of these settlements…
  • Build Your Own Settlement: If you’re not much for traveling the stars and you’ve been looking to plant your roots, look no further. After earning the respect of citizens on a given planet, you’ll be able to create your OWN settlement as an overseer. Overseers are responsible for everything from naming your settlement, building structures, settling disputes, and defending your settlement…plus so much more.
  • Nebulas: As an amazing visual update, the game now has multi-colored nebulas that form randomly in space. They’re quite beautiful.
  • Base Building UI Update: The base building menu has been recreated from the ground up (thank god). It’s no longer clunky as sh*t, and I’m sure all active NMS players are just as relieved as I am.

There’s a whole bunch more, and you can read more in depth on the official No Man’s Sky website here.

All in all, very happy with this update. Sean Murray has done an amazing job of keeping this game alive and changing since it’s initial release. It’s come a long way, and I’m happy to see how much it’s transformed. I can’t wait for more.
