Oh Baby,

ESPORTSREPORTER.COM / DANTE SRILAPA – SENIOR EDITOR / DECEMBER 20, 2020 /

As many of us know, due to last week’s (as of 12/20/20) Japanese leak, Super Baby 2 is comin’ to town. That’s right ladies and gents, the character that literally nobody asked for is arriving in Dragonball FighterZ early next year.

“But Dante, who the hell is Super Baby 2 and why is he called Baby Vegeta?”

Well it sure as hell isn’t Vegeta as a toddler. To figure out who Baby Vegeta 2 is, you have to go back and watch or read the worst part of Dragonball history: Dragonball GT. The same place that Goku GT is derived from. Not only is it the worst, but it’s also non-canon. Woo-hoo.

Baby (sans-Vegeta) was a parasitic being who was the last of his kind upon birth. It was none other than the Saiyans who wiped his species out, and he lived to take revenge for his brethren. Upon reaching Earth, he infects most of the inhabitants and takes over Vegeta’s body. After defeating Goku, who teleports away, he uses the Black Star Dragon Balls and wishes for a new home planet. Yada yada yada, Goku goes Super Saiyan 4 and starts beating his ass. Baby Vegeta 2 goes Golden Ape, Goku shoots off his tail, Vegeta gets free, Baby hops in a spaceship, Goku shoots his ass into the Sun with a x10 Kamehameha. A lot of details in between, but none really matter. If you don’t already know, or really care, you can read the details here.

Let’s get to the part that I actually care about. How good is Baby Vegeta 2 going to be, and what the hell does he even do? I’m glad you asked an important question.

Baby Vegeta 2 will undoubtedly be the newest anchor introduced to FighterZ. His entire kit screams it, in fact. The only information we have thus far is as follows:

Level 1- Full Power Energy Wave: A downwards diagonal beam.

Level 3-(1 of 2): Revenge Death Ball: Think, evil spirit bomb.

Level 3-(2 of 2): Becoming Great Ape: Big golden monkey time. Super Baby transforms into the Big Ape and presumably beats the crap out of you, then blows you skyhigh.

And here’s the real kicker, he’s got an interesting special ability and it is something we’ve never seen before. I don’t know how it works yet, but Baby can revive your dead opponents and use their Z-Assists. Yeah that’s right. He resurrects dead enemies and makes them fight for him. We’ve yet to see how he summons them, or if he has to input something to “revive” them. But it’s cool as hell and this is the entire reason I’m sure he’s going to be an anchor.

I’m sure as hell excited to get him in the game, and hopefully you are too.

But that isn’t all.

Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta was announced at the end of Super Baby 2’s trailer. And that’s one sexy saiyan. But more on that later, when we hear more about him. For now, we anticipate more Super Baby 2 news, which of course, you can find here when it becomes available.
